So I made a video...
I was working on my peerbackers account the other day and I thought that I should probably make a video. So I did. And I recorded for, I kid you not, 53 minutes of me just talking about EVERYTHING. I talked about my business, my blog, what I was crowd funding for, my family, friends, the laptop I was using, why I was to grow a business, why I started photography, you name it, probably mentioned it. So now what I have to do is edit that 53 minute monologue of my life story down to a short 3-4 minute video of why I'm crowd funding :P So that may explain why I haven't been blogging every single day.
I also re-activated my Netflix account five days ago. So recently, I've finished up the episodes I've missed from Grey's Anatomy, finished the 30 Rock season I left off on when I left last semester, watched Transformers 3, and today I watched Aeon Flux and Mean Girls 2. I didn't like the plot in Transformers 3 because it kept changing. Actually....I kinda like that, it kept me engaged throughout the movie. But I mostly liked it for its sarcastic tendency. I'm a very sarcastic person and I love it when movies, books, and pieces of artwork are the same way. Aeon Flux was very interesting. It was hard to follow at first but it had such an interesting story line and setting that I was glued the entire time. It reminded me a bit of The Island and Auldous Huxley's Brave New World. I liked it. Mean Girls 2 on the other hand was dumb. I was expecting something remotely close to Mean Girls....but that was not the case. I liked the storyline though...It was very well put together. And the plot pretty much followed suite. I liked how there was more aggression in this one. That was cool.
Anyway! Back to editing my lovely little life story video for peerbackers! Don't forget to check it out!

Emma Watson
Let me just say, I love Emma Watson. I loved her him HP and I will follow her through every performance she does, ever. She is a huge role model to me in everything that she does. She carries herself to such a standard that makes me want to be really close friends with her. I feel like we would be good friends actually. We have the same tastes. And she's classy too. Like Lauren Conrad, another huge role model for me. The way Emma talks about things - she jokes, has sarcasm, and knows when and when not to be serious. That's how I want to be. I would love to get the chance to meet her. Even to just sit down and chat about life. She just seems like a down to earth person and not one of those 'I'm high on the life of the rich famous and popular people!' I really do feel that she would be a tremendous friend though. So, by chance that you are ever reading this Emma, know that no matter what you do, bad or god, I will always be rooting you on and ya know, if you ever do wanna chat? or have some coffee/tea sometime? You'd make my life. That or Jim Sturgess. I'd love to have coffee/tea with him too :) But moreso, you Emma.
Stay Classy Emma Watson Fans. Stay classy :D

Europe
My friend Shannon and I are dreaming about Europe lately. I told her about my adventure that I want to go on throughout all of Europe in May and now she wants in! So backpacking through Europe? Under 3,000? SURE! Challenge accepted! (I also want my friend Eli to come so it could three instead of two against the world!) So far, it's not too bad. The Music department is offering a 3 credit course to London for 2 weeks in May for 2,900 so I'm trying to beat them so that I can win Shannon over and we can have the adventure of our lives. So! Now I'm meeting two challenges! Trying to raise money for my peerbackers account (http://peerbackers.com/projects/the-necessary-tools-for-a-photographer/Come and show your support! You'll get stuff from me if you do! A LOT of stuff too!)
and this Europe trip planning.
Here's the order of places we plan to visit:
Prague, Czech Republic
Vienna, Austria
Venice, Italy
Rome, Italy
Milan, Italy
Paris, France
London, England
Dublin, Ireland
We would fly into Prague and fly out of Dublin and spend approx two days in each city.
ANYWAY! So now it's just meals, rail passes, and places to stay. If you have any ideas, just comment below with them!

Sent!
I have just sent in my company start approval for peerbackers! I was having a hard time deciding which project to begin. The choice was between a trip to Europe for artistic experience/exploration or new equipment to replace the non-existent equipment that I have now. I went for the new equipment because I could always go on that Europe experience/exploration another time. So wish me luck on approval! I'll keep ya'll posted :)

Oh my Goodness!
I'm so sorry I haven't been active for such a long time! I guess I got so busy with school, work, and being social that I was never really on my computer. Well I have vowed to change that! I'm moving blogging to the front of my agenda and I will at least post a little something here and there. I think what really got me was the fact that I had a schedule. So we're gonna try to just go with the flow and be creative!
First on my creative list:
I'm creating a business.
A business? What?!
Yes. A business.
I already have a photography business that I'm working on. Seeing how I'm studying photography and business in college, I thought it may be appropriate to also make that grow within this next year by two fold....at least.
BUT! The business that I am creating now is one of my favorite things to do. It's creating beautiful cards. So starting this week, I will be ordering card making supplies and probably by the week after, I'll open up a shop on etsy. I'll put some tutorials up probably and offer contests and what not later on in the business year. I'll probably do that same for KC Photography, but I'm still working on some projects with that.
The other big news is that I want to go to Europe in May. The places are undecided for now but I do know that I want to go to Prague, Venice, London, Paris, Barcelona, and anywhere in Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, Bulgaria, and possibly Turkey. I want to basically see all of Europe...or at least a large portion of it in just about two to three weeks. So if you want to help me, I am going to make a peerbackers account and blog everything here and even send things to people if they want things and if I raise enough money for me to go.
Well! That's it! Email me at photographybykatiecole@gmail.com if you have any questions or anything of the sort! Thanks guys!

Three Days in a Row?
Oh, My Love by Yellowcard.
The daily song is chosen at random thanks to the

Foyer. This week’s topic,
Floor and House Plans, just happens to allow me to share some ideas about rooms
I’d like in y future house. What’s today? The foyer.
I’m glad that a lot of these pictures
include places for pets to sleep. Also, they are all very cozy and hide away
clutter. I especially like the bench with the pillows. I nice place to sit and
wait for someone to be ready to go, read a book, or take of your shoes after a
long day.
“Find something you are
passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.” – Julia Childs
Have a goal
for each day, week, month, year, and even the future. That goal will keep you
going and working hard. It’s that simple today. Just have a list of goals. My
goals are:
·
Today: Go through all my clothes and pack up
what I won’t need for the summer season.
·
This Week: Post something on Creative Katka
everyday
·
April: Pass all my classes and finish packing
up for the semester.
·
2012: Lose 15 pounds, Get my license, buy a
car, buy a DSLR, and get my passport.
·
The Future: Get married and have the wedding
of mine and my future husband’s dreams, Live in Auburn, AL, Graduate Roberts
with a Photography Major, Business Admin. Minor, Start Katie Cole Photography
as an official business, have children, build the house I’ve been talking about
this week.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8 NIV

Master Closets. In keeping
with this week’s topic, Floor and House plans, I’d like to share a few pictures
of the Master Closets that I’ve viewed on Pinterest and would like to somehow
incorporate into my future house.
I really like the
Idea of an otoman in the closet and with the wrap around wall, combining the
closet images are perfect for the cloest I have in mind. I may or may not
include the chandeliar though, that’s a tough decision.
“Think. Travel.
Celebrate. Charm. Decorate. Dress. Live Colorfully.” – Kate Spade
Today’s
advice is short and easy. Dress for success. If you do, more people will
respect you, look up to you, ask more of you, and you’ll feel like a success
story in the process. As an a photography major, I can tell you for a fact that
I have all the mini shoots and jobs that I do have now because of how I act
toward my clients and potential bosses and how I dress. So simply, Dress for
what you want out of life. Especially in college, you’ll be expected to roll
out of bed and throw clothes on, so taking that extra time to look professional
will show others that you care about spending time on certain things and that
you don’t procrastinate on things. No matter what some people may say, first
impressions really do matter, even more so out there in the big world. Save the
sweats for down time. Examples are shown below.

will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

New Week, New Attempt
So I’ve realized that I have a hard time keeping up with the daily blog posts.
To cure this, I’m going to do a few things. One of those things is keep a
schedule of each day posted next to my computer. (Insert picture of schedule
here.) I am sorry for continually starting over and over but I feel like this
time I’ve really got it down. I have been working out all the kinks in my
schedule so that I will have time to such each week. Also, I am going to start
adding new elements to each daily blog post. They will include the song of the
day, a general topic, a quote, some college student advice, a photograph, some
fun facts, and a biblical verse. Hopefully, this regimen will keep me focused.
Message me with any ideas you may have!
Today’s song is Backdrifts by Radiohead.

This week’s topic is Floor and House plans. While searching the Internet
one day, I came across what I have deemed the perfect floor plans for my
future. There’s room for a studio upstairs that could be my first studio until earn
enough money for a real studio building. There are 4 bedrooms (1 Guest, 1 Master,
and 2 other bedrooms) which are perfect for two or three kids. There’s an
island in the kitchen, walk-in closets in every room bedroom, and a huge living
room with a corner fireplace. It’s pretty much the best floor plan I’ve ever
seen.
I even have a few ideas for the rooms
themselves that I’ll post throughout the week. Thanks to Pinterest, I am able
to build that lovely dream house and even keep it affordable.
“Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see
them.” – Leo Jolstoy
There are only five things you
really need in college consistently. Sure, you need your textbooks, a pillow,
and some shampoo, but in general, the essential things that you need are listed
here.
1)
An Alarm Clock (insert image of cool alarm
clock here.) - This lovely little device
will become your best friend and your worst enemy throughout college. Want to
take a nap between lunch and your next class? Set an alarm. Need to wake up for
that intramural game tonight when you take a nap after dinner? Set an alarm.
Going to bed at 3am with an 8am class the next morning? That’s not a smart move
in the first place, but still, set an alarm. That clock will wake you up in
place your mum gently shoving you awake each morning or shouting your name up
the stairs. It will become your mom. Either buy an alarm clock and make sure it
works for you, or have your mum call you every time you need to wake up. Your
choice really.
2)
Headphones (insert image of cool headphones
here.) – I’m not talking about those cheap $5 ones that you can get at Wal*mart
either. Alliteration aside, these bad boys better be reliable. When do you use
them you ask? On your computer, in the library, Skyping, walking to class, in
class, in bed, watching movies, while texting, while eating, while sleeping!
You can and probably will use them all over the place and even if you’re not a
huge music listener, you still should invest in a good pair of headphones
because when that one time comes where you’ll need them, those $5 headphones
won’t do you justice, or they’ll be broken. Also, if you have an evil
roommate(s), headphones are just the thing to prove that you do not want to
listen to them.
3)
Ducktape (insert image of ducktape here) –
It’s not a secret that ducktape is a college kid’s choice of weapon, but in all
honesty, it is the best and most inexpensive solution to all issues. If 42
wasn’t the answer to life, the universe and everything else, I’m almost
positive Adam Douglas would agree that ducktape would be the answer. It fixes
broken things, holds things onto the wall, sticks things together, helps in
pranks, closes boxes, makes gifts, and so many more things. Once, I heard that
this guy couldn’t find a razor before his date, so he used ducktape to his best
ability to shave, so I guess it can even shave. I don’t know if it worked, but
you could always try that I suppose.
4)
Post-it notes (insert image of post-it notes
here) – These little buddies will help you with EVERYTHING. They’re just as
good as ducktape almost. Bookmarkers, flashcards, calendars, reminders, address
books, flip books, thank you cards, birthday cards, get-well cards, signs,
last-second thought pads, lists, origami paper, wallpaper, and I’m sure they’re
used in other ways as well but that’s what I’ve used them as so far.
5)
String (Insert image of string here) – Yes,
string. You cannot comprehend how many times I’ve needed string for something
either essential or dumb. I’ve used it to hang things, tie things together, as
replacement shoelaces, pull pranks on floor mates, decorate for the holidays,
tie knots when I’m bored, exercise, hold my hair back, remind me of something,
hold my curtains back, and even as a belt one time. It is ridiculous how much
you would need string, even though I just listed the times I can vividly
remember, I know I’ve used it a lot.
So now that you know, go out and buy
this stuff before you start college rather than get to the point where you
would desperately need it. While you’re at it, buy some bubbles and a bouncy
ball because every college kid needs to enjoy their time as a college kid. :P

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us
timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed
of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in
suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.”- 1 Timothy 1:7-8 NIV

Show-N-Tell Tuesday!
That's right! This is the part of the week where I post pictures of things I love. Last week it was turtles, and this week it's going to be fruits. I'm trying to eat healthy for the next...rest of my life, and so this is a motivation.
Mmm. Strawberries. I love sitting down to watch TV or a movie with a pile of sugar and a bowl of cut-up strawberries.
Such a good snack to have, especially during classes.
I like to buy a case of them and then eat them for the times that I want something sweet, like candy.
I just started to like blueberries this summer. I really like it when they're sweet and sour all at once! So yummy :)
Grape tomatoes are so delicious when it's mixed with melted mozzarella and parsley.
